In this defensive battle, none of Meadowdale’s three quarterbacks could break through the Mariner defense. #5 went 7 of 12 in the game for 60 yards. Only two receivers were able to factor in the mix for Mavericks. #25 caught three passes for 29 yards, while #16 caught another three passes for a team high 33 yards. #2 made the most important play of the game with a late interception to give Meadowdale the victory.
Mariner was in the same boat as the Mavericks. Their quarterback completed 7 passes on 17 attempts for 75 yards. None of his passes were for more than 17 yards, which was part of the problem for the Marauders on this occasion. Too many short passes spelled trouble for this Mariner team as first downs were rare. Two costly interceptions lost the game for this team.
